Background
I co-founded Palatial in 2022 to simplify how we build immersive environments. Like Wordpress for XR, Palatial automates initial asset optimization all the way to deploying a 3D web stream for sharing. This unlocks over 1 trillion 3D models that were previously unusable for XR and makes 3D content accessible on any device or headset.

Palatial’s web platform was released in Beta in June 2024 and has already accelerated time-to-result 20x when building spatial experiences.
What I did
I led the entire process of validating, designing, building, and bringing to market the web platform over 18 months, 300+ customer interviews, 2 MVPs, and a pre-seed fundraise.

Palatial currently offers a web based DCC to Unreal Engine workflow for 3D artists, and has plans to release a plugin that delivers the same experience directly in Unreal Engine.
User Research
understanding needs to prioritize development

I conducted 500+ hours of interviews, surveys, usability studies, and validation testing to ensure that we kept user needs at the center of the development process.

During MVP testing, it became clear most collaboration features were “nice to have”, but automated model optimization was "need to have". Development priorities were shifted based on this insight, and we continue to run weekly usability testing through our waitlist.

Design Artifacts
From idea to implementation

I created 29 user flows that covered every interaction from sign up to transferring ownership of a workspace. These diagrams were critical in guiding development of Palatial's pricing strategy, architecture, and user experience.

I worked with an interaction designer to build out the components, wireframes, and interactive prototypes. The images below show 1 of 29 flows.
